Zion on a Sunday

Church is open from 10am for drinks before our main event at 10:30am.

When to arrive

If it's your first visit then it's probably best to turn up around 10.15am. If you are driving then you'll be pleased to hear that there is plenty of free parking. For directions please see the Find Us page. You'll be greeted on the door by a member of the welcoming team who will give you some information about the church and notices of forthcoming events.

What to wear

This is easy. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We are an informal church and accept people as they are. There is no need to dress up to try and be someone that your not.

What to expect

For some people, going anywhere for the first time, can be a bit of a nerve-racking experience. To help avoid any worries here's a quick summary of what you can expect at ZCC. First of all we aren't super-spiritual beings, we all had a 'first day' at church, you'll find we are a friendly bunch, if you don't understand something please simply ask. We start our meeting at 10.30am,  we spend about 35 minutes worshipping. Our worship time consists of modern songs (with guitars, keyboards and drums), anyone can contribute appropriate bible verses and some may bring words of encouragement. Everyone participates in the worship but at 11am the kids go to their own groups, we also run a crèche for the little ones. We then have few minutes of notices keeping us informed of diary dates etc. We then have a talk from the bible that is relevant and meaningful to our modern lives. We finish our meeting around midday, with tea and coffee. Our aim is that whether you are just looking into Christianity for the first time or have been a Christian for many years that you should be encouraged and inspired by the morning. We hope that everyone will draw closer to God.
Ephesians 4:12:“Christ gave those gifts to prepare God’s Holy people for the work of serving, to make the body of Christ stronger.”

We also want to see God impact this area of Yorkshire and Stanley, we are always looking at ways of making inroads into the community and the surrounding area.  In the end, the church is not the building, it's the people".

We believe

In the inspiration and sole authority of the Bible.
That the Godhead eternally exists in three persons, The Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
That all men have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
That the death and risen power of Jesus Christ are the basis of salvation.
That the church is composed of all true believers in Jesus Christ.
That the Baptism in the Spirit with signs following and the Gifts of the Spirit including divine healing are available to the church today.
In the personal return of Jesus Christ to receive His Church and finally judge the world.
In the ordinances of the Lord’s Supper and Believer’s Baptism by total immersion.

We are

A fellowship that has existed in Stanley since 1988.  We met previously in Methley.
One thing we have in common is that we have given our lives to the Lord Jesus Christ.  In doing so we have found forgiveness from sin, peace of mind and an assurance for the future.
Zion impacts a large area, and we have people from Stanley and also people from the Wakefield and Leeds district, who come to fellowship with us, so were ever you live there is a place for you at Zion.
Jesus said, “I have come that they might have life and have it to the full.” John 10:10
